What’s on Sky Sports this month? April’s essential viewing schedule
Top sporting watches this month.

April will see more major events across all sports that Sky has to offer, so find out how you can tune in, when and where.
Football on Sky Sports
The football season is coming to the end, with April being the last full month of fixtures for the campaign.
Enjoy it while we still have it as there is still a lot of football to be played over this month across all leagues covered by Sky Sports.
Liverpool vs Everton | Wednesday 2nd at 8pm | Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League
Once more, the Merseyside Derby will provide the sparks, only with the additional stakes that it will be the final time the two clubs play each other where their home stadiums are positioned with a field no bigger than a kilometer between them.
The last meeting had a stunning ending with Toffees captain James Tarkowski scoring a sensational equaliser in the dying moments to cap off a heated and memorable affair. Will we get the same again this time around?
Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest | Saturday 5th at 5:30pm | Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League
Who would’ve thought that at this stage of the season, Aston Villa would be hanging around the mid-table, currently outside a European spot from next season, while Nottingham Forest would be occupying third. Mental.
Villa will need maximum points from as many games remaining to get into the European spots, while Forest can’t slack off with the chasing pack certainly ready to pounce on any slip ups.
Manchester United vs Manchester City | Sunday 6th at 4:30pm | Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League
Regardless of the position either side are in, the Manchester Derby almost always proves to be an exciting affair.
United got the win in the first matchup earlier in the year thanks to two late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo that stunned the Cityzens.
Aston Villa vs Newcastle United | Saturday 19th at 5:30pm | Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League
Another battle for Europe will occur as Aston Villa will host the reigning League Cup champions Newcastle as both look for a spot in at least the Europa Conference League for next season.
As of writing, the Magpies have the upperhand, sitting in sixth to Villa’s ninth. But things may change, so who knows the position either side will be in come the time of their matchup.
Formula 1 on Sky Sports
Two exciting rounds are already down and while it’s still early, we’re already getting a picture of what’s to come this year.
But two races don’t tell the full story. We’ll certainly learn more this month as April holds the first triple header of the year!
Japanese Grand Prix | Friday 4th - Sunday 6th | Sky Sports F1 HD
Suzuka has hosted numerous memorable races, but while its new spot at the start of the calendar won’t see any champions crowned, we certainly can expect to get more of an understanding as to where each team and driver currently are.
McLaren have the most wins as a constructor in the Japanese Grand Prix and are looking like favourites to add to their tally - but will it be Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri taking the chequered flag?
Bahrain Grand Prix | Friday 11th - Sunday 13th | Sky Sports F1 HD
Replaced as the season opener by Australia, the grid will return to the Bahrain International Circuit for the first of two consecutive races under the floodlights.
Lewis Hamilton is the most successful driver here with five wins while Ferrari is the most successful constructor with seven wins. Could we see this pairing claim their first Sunday victory together during the weekend?
Saudi Arabian Grand Prix | Friday 18th - Sunday 20th | Sky Sports F1 HD
The triple header ends at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia, the superfast street circuit setting the stage for an interesting affair.
Max Verstappen has most wins at the circuit with two but will need to be at his very best if he wants to add to that tally.
Cricket on Sky Sports
IPL | Until 25th May | Sky Sports Main Event & Cricket
The IPL got back underway in March, with some of the best T20 cricket action running from now right up until 25th May.
12 matches have already been played and currently the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders have a long fight ahead of them as they sit bottom of the standings.
Golf on Sky Sports
April is Masters month, the most coveted tournament of the year. Along with that, there’s some other exciting events on the PGA and LPGA Tours to look forward.
The Masters | Thursday 10th - Sunday 13th | Sky Sports Main Event & Golf
Augusta National will be in fine form as ever to host the latest edition of The Masters, with one of the grandest prizes in golf on offer for the victor.
Rory McIlroy has been in hot form and is favourite to claim his first green jacket and finally claim the career grand slam.
RBC Heritage | Thursday 17th - Sunday 20th | Sky Sports Main Event & Golf
Just a week after The Masters, the field will head to Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina for RBC Heritage, one of only eight signature events this season.
With a $20m purse on the line, $3.6m of which being handed to the winner, all competitors will be eyeing the trophy even after a tough week at Augusta the weekend prior.
The Chevron Championship | Thursday 24th - Sunday 27th | Sky Sports Main Event & Golf
The first major championship of the year for the LPGA will also come in April as the field head to Texas for the Chevron Championship.
Defending champion Nelly Korda is yet to win an event this season but the world number one is still in fine form and will no doubt be a threat come tournament time.
Tennis on Sky Sports
ATP Monte-Carlo | Monday 7th - Sunday 13th | Sky Sports Main Event, Tennis & Sky Sports+
The Monte-Carlos Masters is one of the top events of clay season and is a great warm-up for the players as they head towards the French Open.
Pretty much all the top players from the tour will be there, including Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Alexander Zverev.
ATP & WTA 1000 Madrid | Tuesday 22nd April - Sunday 4th May | Sky Sports Main Event, Tennis & Sky Sports+
Over to Spain later in the month as both the men’s and women’s tour will compete at the Madrid Open.
Once again, expect to see all the best stars competing as they get themselves ready for the second Grand Slam of the season.

Reigning champion Luke ‘The Nuke’ Littler has been on a tear this season, claiming his fourth night win in Newcastle on Night 8. He holds a strong lead at the top, but as usual, all that matters is finishing in the top four to make the playoffs.

Night 11 – Thursday 17th at 7pm
Night 12 – Thursday 24th at 7pm
Betfred Super League | Sky Sports+
Six weeks into the 2025 Betfred Super League season and there is one clear runaway at the moment. It’s a long season, though, with a lot of rugby still left to play. Will Hull KR be able to keep up their flying start?
Netball Super League | Sky Sports+ & Mix
