Midnight Mass transports the action from a haunted house to a remote island.
The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor creator Mike Flanagan has unveiled the first trailer for his upcoming horror series Midnight Mass.
Set to arrive on September 24th, the seven-episode limited series is set amongst a small, isolated community on Crockett Island that’s filled with secrets, social turmoil and supernatural happenings.
According to the official synopsis, “these divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford) and the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater).
“When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community — but do these miracles come at a price?”
Alongside Linklater and Gilford, its large cast consists of several Hill House and Bly Manor alum including Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Alex Essoe, Henry Thomas, Annabeth Gish, Robert Longstreet and Samantha Sloyan.
All episodes of Midnight Mass were written and directed by Flanagan with production having wrapped in December 2020 luckily unaffected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the release of the trailer, Flanagan tweeted out a letter which described the series as his “favorite project so far.”
